Connectmodo Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a company incorporated in New Zealand. We operate an AI-powered business coaching platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services at connectmodo.com. We are committed to complying with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

We collect the following personal data when you register and use Connectmodo:

- Business name and profile information
- Conversation and coaching session content
- Billing information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card details)
- Usage data and analytics (pages visited, features used)
- Marketing preferences
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our coaching service
- Personalise your coaching experience
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send transactional emails (account, billing, security)
- Send marketing communications (only if you opt in)
- Comply with legal obligations
4. How We Collect Information
We collect personal information that you provide directly (e.g. when you register or use the service), and information generated automatically through your use of the platform (e.g. usage data). We collect only information that is necessary to provide and improve the service, in accordance with Information Privacy Principle 1 of the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Anthropic — to power AI coaching responses (data processed under their privacy terms)
- Stripe — to process payments securely
- Supabase — for secure database hosting
- Vercel — for application hosting
All third-party providers are contractually bound to process your data securely and only as instructed.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as required by law. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.
7. Your Rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
- Make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information

8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

We use essential cookies required to operate the service (authentication sessions). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use of Connectmodo after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of New Zealand, including the Privacy Act 2020. Any dispute arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
